The axl & trax predefined single role concept is the result of over 14 years of development and improvement by taking experience from every role implementation project in that period. It is continuously improved as we value this concept as one of the success factors of our role redesign projects.
Single roles are defined as homogenous sets of transaction codes representing an activity in a sub-process. The single roles are named logically with a clear business description, such that it is relatively easy to relate them to activities or responsibilities within any organization. Due to the setup, each single role by itself provides with the necessary access rights to complete the process activity.
The single roles are designed to be free of segregation of duties conflicts. This means that any conflicts that may occur at user level are either caused at composite role level (‘function’-level) or due to the assignment of various incompatible access rights to a user. This allows the organization to focus on organizational segregation of duties conflicts and risk mitigation rather than technical conversion.
Over 17,000 SAP transaction codes are covered in this single role concept; grouped into approximately 800 single roles which cover the main functionality in SAP R/3, ECC, BI, BW, APO, CRM and SRM systems.
It is easy to tailor the single role concept, which is normally done in projects to align the roles with the specific implementation requirements for any organization.
The axl&trax predefined single role concept is used in axl & trax projects and then the resulting tailored roles for the customer are considerd as a project deliverable. The concept can also be purchased without any project involvement of axl & trax.
